Tim's Story
My wife and I moved to Torbay in 2012 with our three kids, and we absolutely love calling this place our home!
I joined the team after thirteen years of ministry in a wide variety of youth work projects across the country, all predominantly based in secondary schools. I personally found secondary school very difficult as a teenager, experiencing both verbal and physical bullying on a regular basis. It was something that took me a long time to recover from and it has most certainly steered how and why I’ve worked with young people over the last eighteen years. I believe that young people need to be regularly reminded of their worth, and of the opportunity that they all have, to really make a difference in their world. I hope that I can help young people to learn to love themselves, shaking off the many lies and negativity that has been sown into them in their formative years. I also hope that I can help young people to learn to love the people around them, I think our communities would look a whole lot better if this was happening today. I believe that Jesus is the best news to give someone, and I’m passionate about trying to help people know more about this amazing God that I know for myself. Too many times I meet people that feel the Christian faith is just not for them, and I’m committed to breaking down some of the cultural barriers that seem to stand in the way. I thank God for all the prayers, finance and time that has been faithfully sown into this work by supporters over the last 20 years. |
